Now if you are a calorie counting enthusiast, I suggest you turn away now because I’m sure just the sight of this delicious treat is sure to run your sugar levels high. Enjoy this easy recipe of one of the crowd’s favorites, sopapilla cheesecake.
LET’S GET TO THE EATS!
What you will need overall:
- 2 cans of croissant rolls
- 2 packages of cream cheese
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 glass pan
For the topping:
- I stick of butter
First, you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees
Next, you wan to start on the filling. You will take the 2 packages of cream cheese, cinnamon, sugar, a pinch of nutmeg and honey and combine them in a bowl until you reach a somewhat creamy consistency. *I don’t like to measure things when I am cooking, so I want you to have fun with it. Season it to your level of sweetness and make sure the filling is not runny* 😉
Following that you will take one package of croissant rolls and cover the bottom of your pan. *I like to sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top of that*
After that, you will spread your cream cheese mixture over the flattened out croissant rolls making sure to cover every spot.
Then you will take the second container of croissant rolls and spread them out on top of the mixture.
To create the topping, take your stick of butter and melt it in the microwave. When it is finished melting, add sugar and cinnamon to it. *Ad a good amount of sugar, the topping shouldn’t be runny*
Add the topping onto of the pastry and then place it into the oven.
Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until it is golden brown on top.
Take out of the oven and let cool.
Serve warm, or place into the refrigerator overnight and let it harden.
*I usually do that because having a slice of this cold is to die for!!!*
Well that is the recipe, I hope you all enjoy the deliciousness which is sopapilla cheesecake. 😉
