You may be wondering why we have this crazy title to this story, well here is an explanation. We had naaaaaasty (nasty means good in our books) waiter. He was very sweet and a perfect treat on the eyes! Heeeeey Arturo! 😉
Anywho…LET’S GET TO THE EATS!
Who says bar food has to be burgers and nachos??? We recently decided to take a different route this week and go to a bar for dinner. We wanted somewhere that was gonna be open late with good food and of course, there aren’t too many options. Our friends at Vals Cheesecakes were celebrating National Cheesecake Day by selling their cheesecake jars at Pokeyo’s.
After we said hey and India ate her cheesecake, we headed out to Uptown to go eat.
The menu at Social House is very broad, and they have all different things from ahi tuna to pizza and many other things. I decided on the chicken fried oysters with a horseradish cream sauce, and their bock beer mussels. To be honest both dishes were okay. I had been wanting oysters for a while, and there are only a few places I trust for oysters. The flavor was good don’t get me wrong, the only problem I had was that there was too much breading on the oysters, but they did have a good amount of spice. The mussels were a little over cooked and drowned in a heavy tomato sauce. I prefer that my mussels be cooked in a white sauce, with garlic versus a heavy sauce.
India hit the jackpot with her dish, but I will let her tell you about her experience. “I had the slow roasted rosemary bourbon butter chicken. The dish was served with roasted fingerling potatoes and mustard greens mixed with apple-wood smoked bacon. Let me tell you one time, THIS DISH WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS! Like….I got all of my life within the first bite into that savory treasure box. That chicken rivals with some of the the most decadent and savory pieces of chicken I have ever had. Definitely a must try dish when you visit!”
So to keep it short and sweet, Social House was a good choice! Let us know about your experience when you go!
