Sweet Georgia Brown is the third stop on our “Hole in the Wall” tour and man is this place good. Good is an understatement, “Slap Yo Mama” is more what I was looking for. Disclosure : We do not condone violenece, but if you ate what we ate, you might want to slap your mom.
Sweet Georgia Brown is what I would call a Dallas staple. Every city has a place that you would take your family and friends to if they came for a visit and I would take everyone I know here. Beware, this place is in a rough side of town, but everyone is so nice and friendly that will be the least of your worries. This place reminds me of Grandma’s house on Sunday after church. You eat too much, and then have the sudden urge of wanting to pass out on the couch for hours, (from the ‘its) but the food is so good you do not want to stop.
This was a suggestion made by my dad and this is one of the few times I chose to listen to him. lol I am definitely glad I did. The guys at the counter made sure we had enough to eat. In fact he asked India and I what did we like most, so he could give us more.
LET’S GET TO THE EATS!!!

We decided on the three meat combo and shared it, which came with 3 sides, and corn bread.
The plate was a mix of sausage, ribs, and brisket. We chose greens, yams, and rice casserole for our three sides, and they gave us enough corn bread to feed a small african village in Zimbabwe.
When we sat down the nicest lady came by and greeted us and said she would wait on us. she made sure we knew to not hesistate to ask her for anything. She had that Grandma feel to her and she was pretty popular too because everyone who came in there knew her. Not wasting anymore time we dove right in. Let me take a pause…..because just thinking about those yams and greens is making me have a foodgasm and I need to calm down….
This food was well worth feeling full as a tick and falling into a food coma. This is definitely somewhere that you have to try at least once….well maybe twice…or three times? #judgefreezone
