Weekly Asian Fix Featuring Howard Wangs

On our list of must try places was Howard Wangs. I chose this place because it was my birthday weekend, and as you know Asian is definitely one of our favorite cuisines. Me along with some of my closest girlfriends met at the Preston Hollow location in Dallas and were ready for a feast!

First off we had to start off our meals with a few cocktails, as we usually do. lol Christa ordered a mimosa which came in a shockingly large glass. It was definitely the biggest mimosa I have ever seen with plenty of oj and champs for all of us!

I had the Mai Tai that gave the perfect amount of sweetness and liqa’ (liquor).

To start off decided to partake in some dim sum and have the calamari and lettuce wraps. The calamari was okay. Definitely would have been bland if they didn’t have the sauce to go with it.

The lettuce wraps were yummy though, but honestly, you can’t nor should you ever mess up something as simple as lettuce wraps.

Oh yall I almost forgot! My friend ordered some crab wontons and girrrrrrl, they definitely were near a tie with our favorite crab wontons at Pho 95, and you know how much we love our beloved Pho 95 so this is clearly real competition. We actually are still in shock about it.

For the main course I ordered the chicken udon dish. Christa had the half crispy duck.

I love udon so this dish won me over. I always add what seems like a thousand scoops of chili paste into my dish because I love my food nice and spicy so this dish was no exception. It was yummy. I simple udon dish filled with flavor, especially after my overdose of chili paste…perfection.

Christa had the half crispy duck which was served with steamed buns and hoisin sauce. now first off, this meal could have fed a small village. The portion was definitely not for one person, more like seven. From the picture below I am sure you see what we are talking about. Screen Shot 2014-10-27 at 9.27.12 PM

The duck paired with the hoisin sauce was perfect. Simply stated it was yummy!
